Independence Day – November 9: Cambodia’s Independence Day is on 9 November and this national holiday was established to celebrate Cambodia’s independence from France in 1953.
Water Festival – Early, Mid or Third week of November: is one of Cambodia’s most exciting events, marking the start of the fishing season and the reversing of the flow of the Tonle Sap river. It takes place around the full moon. The main attraction is the three days of boat races with hundreds of entrants; and nightly fireworks along with illuminated boats and lit flotillas sailing for good luck along the Mekong in Phnom Penh. The Festival is celebrated almost anywhere, including Siem Reap, there is enough water to hold a boat race. Streets will be filled with a carnival type atmosphere, food, games, concerts, it is just a big party all over Cambodia. As one of the most awaited celebrations in the kingdom, Mane Hariharalaya has prepared an exclusive water festival celebration for guests staying with us on these dates.
Angkor Photo Festival – Late November to Early December: Each year, the weeklong Angkor Photo Festival hosts exhibitions and outdoor slideshows, many at The FCC Angkor, by celebrated international and emerging Asian photographers in Siem Reap. The temples of Angkor become a hub for photographers to gather in a spirit of creativity and sharing. The strong educational goal of the Angkor Photo Festival sets it apart from other photography events.
